Jamal Murray officially out for restart opener

Denver Nuggets point guard Jamal Murray is officially out on Saturday for the Western Conference team’s opening matchup in the 2019-20 NBA restart in Orlando, Florida.According to ESPN’s Tim Bontemps, Murray, who is nursing a hamstring injury, was putting up shots pregame before the Nuggets’ first restart game against the Miami Heat. However, the 23-year-old Canadian floor general will end up missing the contest.Gary Harris and Jamal Murray were both out on the court getting up shots and working out until Denver & Miami took the floor. Both of them will miss today’s game, as will Will Barton. Nuggets will start Monte Morris, Torrey Craig, Michael Porter Jr, Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic— Tim Bontemps (@TimBontemps) August 1, 2020Along with Murray, wings Gary Harris and Will Barton are out on Saturday, per Bontemps. Harris is dealing with a hip injury while Barton has a knee concern; the Nuggets are starting Monte Morris, Torrey Craig, Michael Porter Jr., Paul Millsap, and All-Star center Nikola Jokic. The Nuggets enter the NBA’s season resumption with the third-best record in the West. With the Orlando “bubble” starting up, Jokic made headlines due to a drastic weight loss returning from the four-month layover between the season’s suspension back in March and July. Head coach Mike Malone, in Denver’s first exhibition game before official regular-season games start yesterday and today, had Jokic running the point with a huge lineup including former injured 7-foot-2 center Bol Bol.Bol scored double-digit points multiple times, although it’s difficult to see the son of Manute Bol making an immediate impact in the lineup as the rookie hasn’t played any official games yet.–Follow ClutchPoints on Twitter & Instagram, and like us on Facebook.
