Latest Netflix anime series Transformers War for Cybertron

The anime brings new meaning to their popular catchphrase “More than meets the eye” Netflix has just started streaming a new Transformers series, titled Transformers: War for Cybertron – Siege. Quite a big title isn’t it? Well, it has its meaning, and we will understand it as we keep watching. The show is going to be a trilogy, meaning two more seasons will be arriving. From the characters designs, we can easily understand that it’s based on the original “G1” period. G1 stands for Generation 1, when the show, the comics, and it’s Hasbro toy line came out during the 80s. Plot The story will be set on their home planet Cybertron (whew, no more humans) and we get to see the struggle for supremacy between the Autobots and the Decepticons. However, till now, it was a simple good Vs bad division between the two factions. The new show makes us root for characters from both sides, and have done their part in humanising the characters. It starts off with the two sides fighting, but Siege didn’t want to tell a story that’s been told countless times. We see Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Ultra Magnus entering into an alliance on the battlefield. We come to know the reasons why the three started fighting amongst each other, and it raises many new questions. We see the Autobots in desperation and out of ideas for a brighter tomorrow. On the other hand, the Decepticons are in a similar situation, and on top of that, they have to deal with the power-hungry Megatron. Netflix has made the show properly dark, and will be diving deep into their lore in later episodes. We not only see the fight between robots, but the fight of different ideologies, which are more interesting than the action. (Cover: Netflix)
